Why the Build Fee is not really a fee
Pay $1,000, and your first $10,000 is commission-free. At 10%, commission on $10,000 is $1,000. You are not buying the build. You are prepaying your first commission and getting the build thrown in. Above $10,000 both paths cost exactly 10%.

Do I have to pay the Build Fee?
No. You can build your framework yourself in the Studio for nothing and publish when you are ready, at the same flat 10%. The Build Fee only exists if you would rather we did it with you. And if we do, your first $10,000 is commission-free, so at $10,000 and above the two paths cost exactly the same. The build is effectively free if it works.
How do I earn the Build Fee back?
Your first $10,000 earned on Uptales carries zero commission. At our flat 10%, the commission you are not paying on that $10,000 is exactly $1,000, the Build Fee. Most Masters get there fastest by bringing existing clients through the platform, where those sales are commission-free and count toward the threshold. Our first Master crossed $10,000 in his first weeks.
Do I pay commission on clients I bring myself, or close outside Uptales?
Commission applies only to sales made through the Uptales marketplace. Business you close off-platform, including clients who found you here and hired you directly later, is entirely yours.
What is in Master Pro, and is it worth $49?
Pro is tools, not a discount: unlimited listings (the free tier carries three), the Launch Engine, client analytics, and client portals — together they typically pay for the subscription on their own. The commission rate stays the same flat 10%. If you’re running one listing and testing the water, stay free; upgrade when you’re launching seriously.
What happens if I cancel?
Masters can pause or deactivate listings anytime with no penalty. Builders keep everything they’ve built; boards export, and the free plan keeps one board active forever.
Are there listing fees, minimums, or other charges?
No. The full list is above: a flat 10% when you sell, an optional $1,000 Build Fee if you want us to build it (returned as commission relief), and optional Master Pro. No listing fees, no monthly minimums, no charge per client, nothing else. Standard Stripe processing applies to payouts, as it does everywhere.
